We drove from Italy, through a corner of Austria, into Slovenia. We were in the Alps the entire time. However, the road is mostly tunnels. I couldn't get good pics, but it was still amazing!
Then we drove into Slovenia and it was breath-taking! One beautiful village after another. The old churches in each one were so perfect.
This kind of beauty is unreal!
We stayed in the Hike and Bike Chalet in Stara Fuzina. It was a tiny village and this was the hike out the back door!

We started out super excited and happy to be hiking. We thought it was a 1 hour hike.

We were hiking to a waterfall...we kept going and going!
Still not there. Totally fake smiles. I think there were tears at this point.
After a pep talk, we threw some rocks in the water...which is a known cure for grumpy tears. Tim was still looking at GPS...are we anywhere near it?
Still an amazing hike. Who lives out here? I think they are summer houses!

Jesse and I pulled up the rear...but we MADE it! Only took us 4 hours!
Worth it!
We decided it would be fun to RUN back! So we set some goals and raced home!
They saw some deer and tried to follow after them.
After a rest, we came out to Lake Bohinj!
Why not hike up 600 steps to another waterfall??
The lighting was just right and the oldest church was amazing to photograph. This was less than a mile from our B&B.
