Snow Day

It snowed! So we drove up into the mountains to find a good sledding hill!

Titus is always up to mischief!
 Addy was ready to play!
Hana and Lina were freezing but ready to smile!

Watch out for rocks, barbed wire, trash and land mines!
It's warmer for your face if you put your hat on backwards!
Then a blizzard blew started to blow in! It whipped up so much ice, we were all crying!

We tried to hide behind this house to get out of the wind!
Beautiful scene of our city as we drove back!

Day Three: Great Ocean Road

This mate must have gotten lost from his friends. He wandered into the campground.

He did not know which way to go!

We took a twisty, turny road through the  mountains. Lots of people got car sick, but it was so beautiful and GREEN!

We ended up here for lunch!

The kids explored the rocks for hours!
 God is so creative!

The Clarkes teach us so much about taking time to find beauty everywhere.

The Great Ocean Road curves for miles along this coast!
 Gotcha! Wild cockatoo.
We were all exhausted, but we spent 3 days seeing parts of the world we may never see again! It was incredible! Somehow Benjamin pushed through despite feeling really sick the entire time! Unfortunately, we are the ones who brought the sickness with us from Iraq! Sorry guys!

Day Two: Great Ocean Road

 The 12 Apostles.
Any smiles from here on out will be fake. It was hot! Somehow we picked the hottest day to come!
 But it was SO beautiful!

No one, except maybe Elizabeth and Emma wanted to be in my pictures!
Tried to get a random dude to get a pic of us all...fail.

 This family is PURE gold!

 Finally...a group pic!

Fortunately, our lunch stop included a swimming cove! It was freezing, but felt so refreshing!

The kids caught lots of sea creatures.
This guy kept peeking out and slamming his door shut!

The water was really clear and fun to watch fishies in!

 We found some warm water.

 I LOVE this pic!

This is called London Bridge. Used to be connected. Years ago it broke off in the middle and several people were stranded on the other side and had to be rescued.

 The Grotto.

Australia...you are beautiful. I ran out of steam though and got hot, tired, dehydrated, and just plain old grumpy!
Somehow the kids still had energy when we got back to play cricket. What you can't see in any of those pics are the FLIES!!! They were SO annoying! No travel brochure mentions how crazy they are. There were swarms everywhere and they would ride on the back of your clothes and you had to swat at them all day long! As soon as night hits, the flies disappear and the "mozzies" come out. Camping is not for the faint of heart in Australia. I went to bed early!
