Exploring
We took a drive out of the city to explore! Spring is so beautiful and wonderful here and I have to soak up every available minute I can outside while it is still GREEN and perfect weather! I love that this road was more like a sidewalk and it took us straight up a mountain! We like to just turn down a new road and see where it ends up taking us.
The views were incredible!
This is not a fake picture. I love all that is going on in this picture. The plowed fields, the jagged mountains, the villages tucked away in valleys.
These images of the farmer plowing his field were incredible. Look at all the rocks in the soil. Most people would just quit before they ever started. This farmer has a wooden plow, two donkeys and a small, vertical plot of land on the side of a mountain! He sees something I don't see. He sees it must be worth it. He has a vision to plant something that will grow and last and provide for his family.
Forward!!!
The mountain tops still look freezing, but down in the valleys it was warm and green!
This particular road took us straight through a little creek!
I love it when the sun rays blast through the clouds in those glory beams!
As soon as these 3 are released from the car, they are off exploring!
We spotted this rock outcropping from the road, so we had to get a closer look. Upon closer inspection...we found the locals thought it made a perfect wall to hide their giant trash piles! Wow...what a different perspective we have!
While the other two are off climbing, Toby is laying and telling us what shape the clouds are in: Kazhakstan, Russia, Germany were among the few.
A sure sign of spring are the beloved red poppies! Always a promise of new life to me!
Climb higher and higher Annie!
And....then there was THIS! Whomp! What stories lie behind all this discarded and broken stuff?
I am just kind of horrified and fascinated by this trash pile: a boot, a toy car, a can for lard...who went to all the trouble of hiking up a mountain to dump all this stuff??
The almond trees are in full blossom growing out of rocks even. They are so beautiful! The weekend was perfect with this drive and hike. It lifts my soul up. I am not a city girl, so I am so thankful that nature is just around the corner!
