Dubai

We had a week of fun with our region in Dubai. Annie read her story, "How the Pelican Got Her Pouch" for the Family Night Talent Show. What a fun way to learn about each other.

Toby, Jesse and Drew were props for Mr. Travis as he told one of his "epic" stories about how he and a motorcycle got stuck in the jungle for 3 days.

We rented bikes with the Forresters for a fun ride up and down the boardwalk.

Tim's attempt at a selfie! We laughed a lot that evening!
The boys spent a lot of fun time with Drew. They made a few Stop Motion videos together. What a great friend to have!

The highlight of the week was going Dune Bashing in Landcruisers with the whole group!

We even got to see camels roaming!
 The sand was fascinatingly beautiful!
This looks like a peaceful drive, but it was very exciting! They let some air out of the tires and then took off and we went sliding and skidding down hills and straight down embankments. It took all my will power to hold onto my lunch and we seriously felt like we were going to roll a few times.
 What an awesome group!

While I am glad I don't live there, the desert was really beautiful and serene.

My boys were enjoying flipping around through the sand!

So thankful for this lovely lady and the rest of the crew from GA that came to serve our kids! We were blessed by their sacrifice and our kids had such a great time! Thank you Cindy, Susan, Debbie and Bruce! You guys rock!

After dune bashing, we came to a big outdoor tent with cushions and rugs out. We got henna painted on. So thankful for these girls and all the fun Annie had with them! Her heart was FULL!
We even got to ride a camel.

We also got to try out dune surfing!

We ate a yummy traditional Arab meal too!
The kids had fun dressing up!

We went to the Dubai Mall. It was HUGE!
There was an aquarium inside as well as roller coasters.
We went to KidZania. A fun kid town that let the kids work jobs and earn and spend money!

They were dentists.
 They were chemists.

 They were race car drivers.
They even bottled their own coke.

Annie made cookies in an assembly line.
We ended our evening by viewing the tallest building in the world: the Burj Khalif.
A fun city and a fun time together!
