The Kurds favorite color is red. Seriously, almost everyone LOVES red. They dress their kids in red. They gravitate towards red. It's not just because red looks good on people with black hair and darker skin...although does. It's because of THIS!
If only, you could appreciate how lush and amazing this is! This field of poppies literally sprang up overnight. We had lots of rain this year and these flowers were not here last year. But this year...they infiltrated a farmer's wheat field...and so did a lot of people driving by. Sadly these flowers only last a few days, but they are so amazing!
I already know I will treasure this picture for many, many years to come. This month, Annie told us while walking home from the store, she was praying and heard God say, "This will be the year of RAIN." This is already a sign of that to come. We know that when the Rain comes here, it will be like this field, it will appear overnight. However, it will be a lasting rain and a lasting beauty.
The yellow flowers in between the red poppies are wild mustard. Can't help but think about faith the size of a mustard seed...look at all those mountains that can be moved!
I couldn't stop taking pictures of these flowers.
One last parting shot of this rare phenomenon. It was so worth the detour and stop and wading through the wheat. Although, I am sure the farmer is not real happy about it. We are thankful and will let it remain marked on our hearts and minds to fuel us during the dry and hot season that is coming.
Sooo Beautiful!
