Welat

This is Welat, his name means "country," as in a nation of the world. This little guy is the answer to a lot of prayers. He was born on July 24th. He was not measured and weighed about 3 kilos. He is healthy and strong. We are all so thankful.
Leila and I became friends right before her wedding when she was still living with her mom, our neighbors. She had her "henna party" in our basement, we went to their wedding, we held hands while her mom had a c-section to deliver her youngest sister, I sat with her through many tears after her dad was killed in an accident. I have gone to stay at her house many times. We have shared secrets and laughs. I am so thankful for her genuine friendship. I was so happy to get to be a part of Welat's birth. I only got to sit with her through some contractions before they whisked her off to the delivery room and no one was allowed in.
He is here now and she is learning all sorts of new things, as we all do. She has called me to ask about whether his heart beat is too fast or if his skin is too yellow. She trusts me. She knows I love her. She knows I want the best for her.
We will continue to believe only the best for her and her family. We hope they will see where our love stems from, not our own hearts, but from the Father's heart. In this tiny little package of humanity is the potential to change THIS nation, this country, this Welat. God sized dreams for this tiny, little person.
