First of all, this zoo is the best zoo EVER! They have a gondola that goes all the way around the park and over all the cages. A little unsafe...definitely lawsuit chances in America, but totally awesome for Portugal!
I highly recommend going to the zoo with friends.
This zoo has a dolphin show. What?!!! So awesome. Here's my animal lover having a deep connection with this dolphin. Seriously, is everyone fascinated by these creatures? They are so wonderful.

The bummer thing was they cancelled the show because there weren't enough people. So they sadly apologized to us and said we could come backstage if we wanted to instead. Are you joking me?!!!! OF COURSE WE WANT TO! I had to keep myself from trampling the kids in my utter delight to get to go backstage.
Everyone got to pet and kiss this sealion.
I think Anne was really having a moment here.
Then he did tricks for us, 2 feet away!
Then this crazy dude waddled out. That is a face only a mother could love.
He looks like he is about to eat Claire up, but that was just the normal look on his face.
Ummm....did I mention that we were backstage and within feet of all this????
This is where I really had to restrain myself. I really contemplated jumping in. It would be worth a fine or getting kicked out or just wet for the day. I was so tempted to swim with these guys.
This moment was prayed for. We asked the Lord to let one of our kids get chosen to go backstage. This was one of Annie's deepest desires. God didn't answer the way we thought he might, instead he over-the-top blessed us and let us all experience his wonderful creatures firsthand.
I see a special bond here.
Then they went through their routine for us.
What a blow-away day. We didn't get pictures of the monkeys who were in rare form and did all sorts of funny antics for us.
