Turkey Vacation Day Five...Sandcastle, Turkish Bath, and Swimming

Today's first objective was to make a sandcastle, but we weren't about to spend 20 Euros on a bucket set, so we just used our hands and this is what we came up with! Everyone pitched in and worked together. It was well worth our effort.
Jesse spent most of his time gathering shells for decorations, Toby kept trying to fill the moat and Annie was busy giving directions to all.
sometimes I even get to make it into a picture or two.
the beach is only fun for so long and then the sand really starts to drive us all crazy and so it's off for some clean fun in the pools and the slides.
Tim went down all of them!
and i managed to go down one as well...screaming the whole way!
We stopped to chat with Mr. Alan and Ms. Jody one last time before they head back to England...the heroes from yesterday that helped to find Annie.
and this is Emily...for sure the best friend of the week...only you have to say her name with a cute little British accent, because she is the sweetest little Brit we ever met!
This afternoon we did the Turkish bath...Tim thought this picture was too weird to post, but I vetoed him seeing as this blog is mostly mine AND it's my way of scrapbooking, so we had to add this picture. It was so fun anyway and not weird. We all got to get doused with bowls full of steamy water and we all got rubbed down with bubbles. The kids bounced around from tub to tub.
the kids pleaded to go to school again today...it's a good thing too, since they got great face paint!
they each got to pick out of a book...but Toby opted out today!
We headed for the indoor pool when a cool breeze picked up. We can all enjoy that heated water together. Jesse swam all over the place with his eyes wide open the entire time.
Annie was non-stop and NO FEAR!
Jesse was so proud of his new skills.
Toby felt more comfortable with water wings on.
Annie has taken over my goggles and with her speedo on...i think she will definitely be out of lane 8 long before I was on swim team!
We finally convinced Toby to take the water wings off. We have been doing Thankfulness Points all week. They get points deducted for unthankfulness and points added for Thankfulness or for whatever we want really. it's sort of a loose system, but we have kept pretty good track. Toby got 10 points for defeating his fear as did everyone else for learning and trying a new trick in the water. tomorrow we will cash in the points at the toy store. no Turkish souvenirs for our kids...take them to the imported toys!
my boys...
toby swimming completely on his own and even looking at the camera!
Annie learned how to flip off the side of the pool. she must have done it 30 times afterwards!
and this is where she gets it from...her Daddy! He's still got some pretty cool moves! I am always impressed by an old man with gray hair that can turn a back flip!
We finished off the night with Disco once again! It's like camp! What an amazing time! Thank you Jesus for such a wonderful day!
