Every ICON (international conference) our organization has is AMAZING...but lately they have added THE Amazing Race! So we got together a team and played and it was so much fun! Although I almost died, since I have made it a policy to NEVER run unless chased for the last 7 years! But it was totally worth it! We ran through swamp, mud, river and all over the place.

the little kids followed us and kept doing "Goooooooo TEAM!" cheers for us! they were awesome!

that's Toby, Jesse and Emma...sweet friends...couldn't have done it without them!

my big part in the race was threading 10 needles with one hand! i am pretty sure i did it the fastest...pays to be a homeschool mom sometimes!

tim got to dip his nose in vaseline to transport cotton balls from one table to another...we also stacked donuts on tim's forehead and ate them off his head, threw shoes up on a table with our feet, dipped a gummy worm into a bowl full of pretzels using a fishing pole and many other extraordinary displays of our athletic ability!

in the end we came in 2nd place...which was AWESOME!

here's the whole team with our trophies!

much to my chagrin, my friend and challenger Rebekah beat me...but only because she ate 10 WORMS...yes...real live worms! That is why we were so glad to have taken 2nd place! She was sick for the rest of the night too...big bummer!

the highlight of the evening was when we were on the podium and no one was looking at us as were being recognized for our 2nd place win...when suddenly we realized they were all staring at a BEAR! not the best pic, but you get the idea...it was so cool to see lumbering only a 100 yards from where we were.

Annie raced with us and was AWESOME...never gave up and never cried, even when she wiped out once! We were all proud of our trophies and candy bars...we are bringing our trophies home with us!!
YOU ARE BLOG QUEEN!! I love all the posts on icon, especially THIS one.... who took all those cool pics??!?! HA just kidding! I miss you already!
ReplyDeleteNice Old Navy Shirt! We went 'home' to the States this summer and the first thing we did was outfit the whole family in American Flag shirts!
