1 of 8 Great Dates With My Tween!

I recently bought the book 8 Great Dates for Moms and Daughters, thanks to the advice of Connie! This book has so envisioned me and made me excited about journeying these next few years WITH Annie. I have recently noticed a strong pull away from each other and it has broken my heart. I never knew it would be so hard and that I would have to fight myself to love her as a growing young lady! She is so gracious, as her name means, and continues to hold my hand and cuddle with me. I am thankful beyond words for this one PRECIOUS daughter that I have been entrusted with. I have feared these years, but now I am so excited to walk out each new day together as she grows in her understanding of the world around her and her love for Jesus.
We were supposed to have a fancy tea party as our first date...but we don't even like tea! So we opted on coke floats and frappuchinos instead at our new cafe in town! We spent two hours enjoying each other, the sun coming through the windows and talking about how we are God's Masterpiece! A moment in time I want to cherish forever as I literally watched her little heart get FULL of love. It doesn't take much...she is a quality time kind of girl! We skipped home and she told me she was so happy she could jump for joy! That is priceless to me! I would go to any lengths to hear her tell me again, "Mom you are my real BFF!"

  2. I share your same fears of mothering a teen girl. Thank you for showing me a glimpse into how precious that time can be. Annie is a lucky girl to have you as her mom!
