If Annie asks to help me in the kitchen, I usually dread it. I know that's not very good Mommy skills, but you know I really hate mess and I love my time in the kitchen. It's the one time I get to be alone. I do have my moments of graciously allowing my junior cooks in. But it's usually a controlled environment. Not Holly. If my kids ask to work in the kitchen with her, she lets them help and learn! They love it!
Annie asked to make and apple pie with Holly. So they baked up a storm together. I felt a little guilty, but I am so thankful for Holly and happy to have Annie interacting with her.
Look at that happy face. She loved every second with Ms. Holly!
This pie was amazing and I don't even like pie!
We surprised Ms. Holly at work this week since it was her last class! What are we going to do without Ms. Holly? She has been our steadfast and loyal friend. She has served us endlessly. She has been music teacher, cook, dish washer, baby sitter, friend, team mate, English teacher, OT... I could go on and on. She has been better than apple pie! She has been living with us for a few months and it is going to be hard to let her go!
What a difference she has made in these lives...in my life!
