Thanksgiving in Kurdistan

lest you think we are roughin' it...here we are at thanksgiving with quite the spread and we managed to gather together 22 foreigners celebrating the same event! our friends graciously hosted all of us and we had quite the day!
everyone pitched in to get the food all passed around.
the kids especially enjoyed their big yard with green grass...no one knows quite how they got it, but we were envious to be sure.
jesse in a rare moment of actually eating...

annie and i got to share in wendy's beautiful garden and take home basil, parsley and cilantro. we have high hopes of becoming gardeners ourselves some day. we have tried our hand with a few seeds...but we are still perfecting our skills. in the spring, nazeela has promised to make a garden out of our yard. she does not have one...so we are more than happy to share our dirt!
here we are with our little rainbow in the middle...a little dress i got annie from thailand!
all the guys
all the gals
