The Cast Is Off!!

we finally came to the end of the cast...and it was about time too! showers and just about everything were a pain! the glory of it all wore off really fast!

we weren't sure what they would have to remove the cast, but they had a real cast saw, so that was a HUGE relief! Tim was ready to grab her and do it himself if he had to!

but the doctor and his assistant did a great job! Annie was a little apprehensive about it all, but she managed to giggle a little as the vibrating of the saw felt tickly to her.

it felt really funny to her at first!

but she said it felt so light! i'll bet...that clunky old cast must have weighted a ton, especially on that skinny little arm!

you can't really tell, but it was SO gross on the inside...very dirty and we discovered smelled HORRIBLE!

after we got the next x-ray she was so excited because everything looked straight! Yeah!

She did say her arm looked weird, discolored, peeling, the hair was darker and it was skinnier than the other arm! not mention it was super stiff feeling!

But that wasn't all, it began to itch like crazy soon after...which caused it to peel like crazy. it was a little horrifying...fortunately I had read this would be the case on line, so I wasn't too shocked!

The doctor called Annie over and carefully went over the x-ray with her and explained everything that happened and then taught her how to do 3 different exercises to get her joints feeling smooth again! We are so thankful for Dr. Ahmed!
