Kurdistan is actually quite international we are discovering! Besides the Kurds there are Assyrians, Chaldeans, Arabs, Indians, Pakistanis, and a few of us white folk! This family we met through connections from the previous team. They have a sweet girl named Farah that Annie has gotten to play with a few times. Farah can already speak 4 languages fluently. Farah was the flower girl for her uncle's wedding.

Hana and his new bride.

This is by far my favorite picture. They walked in to a very loud wedding march and then the lights were dimmed, the disco ball turned on, and the fog machine made the perfect romantic touch! Wow!

They turned the corner, the music suddenly switched to a loud middle eastern number, the trills began and the dancing began! The couple was surrounded by family and cameras. It was almost like they were making their own music video. It was a brand new experience for us. one we won't soon forget.

They had so much fun though and he has waited many years to win his love's hand in marriage, so we were so happy to celebrate them.

The dancing was a huge line dance like the Kurds. There were 900 people there. We left a little before 10, but found out later we left LONG before the party really got going! That's about all the party we can handle though!
