This is the perfect way to start the day...looking out over this while I spend time with Jesus...I could never get used to this view. It feels more like Italy than Turkey.
Let's focus on the fact that this is the only picture Tim and I have together so far...not on the fact that I look like I think I am on a runway...I think at the last minute I thought I was slouching...So i quick sucked it in and threw back my shoulders...
we hopped on the mini-bus this afternoon after a morning of swimming and found the cute, little town of Ozdere, Turkey. This sleepy, little has-been tourist town. The streets were old and cobbled and the houses used to be so beautiful, but now are falling apart. We dreamed about owning one with the wisteria hanging in big clumps and the roses growing all over. The flowers were still growing strong.
we couldn't resist picking a few flowers from an empty lot
back to the pool...only for the brave
VERY cold
but they kept going back for more...apparently it was a rush
PURE joy
the warmth of a cozy towel
later on as i was reading on the balcony I saw this sheperdess herding her pretty white sheep...I love the traditional Turkish clothes...
mini-disco...every night the kids can do mini-disco with the little day camp leaders Hurrem and Ali. We are not so hot on the random guy watching our kids, so we have strict parameters for our kids while they are there. But Ali is blissfully unaware of his eccentricity I think. The kids LOVE getting to play with other kids though and we love an hour to take a walk without having to worry about someone tripping and falling. Seriously EVERY time we go out somebody falls. I know none of you are surprised by this, but really it gets old.
Annie ended the night with a certificate for winning the bowling game...she was so proud! That's Ali on the right...he is quite a character...he had some amazing dance moves on the floor...we caught them on video, so you'll have to come see them soon. I was crying laughing!

you look great! I love that shirt you are wearing in the pic with tim. Also, the picture of the kids on the slide is AMAZING!! You must frame it. What kind of camera do you have? I love your pictures.
