In America, we have 4 seasons...each lasting approximately 3 months. We celebrate them with different things, but you see a marked difference outside. I love the season changes. Each one. I can never decide which is my favorite. But I think it might be Fall. Unfortunately Iraq has only 3 seasons...there is no autumn here. Summer lasts at least 7 months. It's HOT and REALLY HOT and then HOT again. Then it goes straight to cloudy, cold and rainy for 3 months. Then for 2 amazing months we have spring here. Oh blessed spring! My favorite here for sure! Everything is green, the sun comes back out, the sky is blue, the poppies are everywhere. So anyway, for fall, we have to make it come to us. Grammy got to help this year.
She had a brilliant idea to shave crayons onto wax paper and cut out leave shapes.

Now they are on our windows to help us see fall.
To smell fall, Holly and I were cutting up apples. She was making a fruit salad and I was making applesauce. Add a little cinnamon and you instantly feel fallish! Tasting fall with fresh, homemade applesauce is amazing!
Fall Fabulous!
To really feel like fall though, we must go in search of a pumpkin or two or three.
There is one kind of tree that turns color here. I am not sure what it is though...a Cottonwood??
Getting ready to make pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bread, pumpkin scones, pumpkin pie...
ugh...the guts!
For the finishing touches...adding a little more fall around the house...Tim might call it clutter...but Annie, Grammy and I call it atmosphere...making Fall come to us!
